Heads Up Runners — These 2020 Races Are All For Really Great Causes

Fitness

Isn’t it a good feeling to know that by entering certain fitness events, you do your bit for the greater good? Opting to run, swim or cycle for a charity really is a rewarding experience.

[Also… We all know how hard it can be to stay motivated to run when the rain is bouncing off the pavement and temperatures are dropping — it’s tempting to give training a miss or even consider pulling out of your race. But if there’s a charity at the heart of it, well that’s a different story.]

We’re currently totally inspired by the Bredell sisters (aged just 11 and 13), who are playing their part to raise funds for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital by breaking a world record last April. The girls raised a whopping R160 000 through their open water swims.

Prefers land to water? Here’s how you can take part in running or walking races to make a difference in South Africa.
